This system is similar to the alu2wood system except for an additional third layer of cork insulation in the middle of the frame. The benefits of the wood2wood system are enhanced by the increased insulation in the window frame and window sash.
The 3Wood window is the first solid wood window which was certified by the Passivehouse Institute in Darmstadt/Germany. Of course this window is also available with an outer layer of aluminum as a alu3wood window. A Europe patent was issued for this window.
